Flight Dispatcher
Job Description
Responsibilities
•
Prepare the pre-planning of the
flight to comply with the requirements.
•
Provide the flight package, assist
the PIC in flight preparation and provide the relevant information required.
•
Assist the PIC in preparing the
operational and ATS flight plans, sign when applicable and file the ATS flight
plan with the appropriate ATS unit.
•
Furnish the PIC while in flight, by
appropriate means, with information which may be necessary for the safe conduct
of the flight.
•
Notify the appropriate ATS unit
when the position of the aircraft cannot be determined by an aircraft tracking capability
and attempts to establish communication are unsuccessful.
•
Keep update the flight movement and
any other necessary data to internal and external concerns.
•
Check the Returned Flight Documents
to ensure that all documents signed and completed.
•
In the event of an emergency shall:

i. Initiate
such procedures as outlined in the operations manual while avoiding taking any
action that would conflict with ATC procedures.
·
ii. Convey
safety-related information to the PIC that may be necessary for the safe
conduct of the flight, including information related to any amendments to the
flight plan that become necessary in the course of the flight.
·
iii. Where necessary, notify the appropriate authorities without
delay and request for assistance if required, if the emergency endangers the
safety of the aircraft or persons and becomes known first to the flight
dispatcher.
· Monitor, respond and react to irregularities, e.g. sickness, delay etc., by rescheduling, at short notice, flight crew members or contact them to duty, out of standby, keeping in close contact with the OCM.
· React in close cooperation with the PIC, and where necessary, with the OCM, to operational irregularities, e.g. by having a flight departing early or depart late or cancel, re-routing etc.
· Liaising with the other Department on a regular basis to advice on the current deviations to planned flying programs so that the most commercially viable and operationally feasible program is maintained.
· Up to date actual information into the FOS system after Flight Return Document has been returned from PIC.
Qualifications
·
Bachelor’s
degree in any field.
·
Certificate of
Flight Dispatcher License.
·
Military
exception
·
Fluency in
English is a must.
· Working experience dispatcher will be advanced
